Eight startups chosen for Cyberview Living Lab® Accelerator Programme

Cyberview's Living Lab Accelerator (CLLA) Programme has selected eight local startups in the domains of smart city development: smart living, industrial IoT, and digital solutions. These startups were chosen from a pool of 20 applicants.

In a statement, the company announced that the standout innovators from the application phase, forming the 17th cohort, include Ever AI Technologies, ProSales, Mesolitica, Favoriot, LekirTech, Beebag, HappyPreggie, and Smartoptz Technology. These companies navigated a rigorous selection process evaluated by the CLLA committee composed of representatives from Cyberview and venture capital firms.

These companies will undergo a five-month programme that offers them support to research, develop, pilot, and commercialise products and solutions, with the goal of accelerating the pathway of companies into achieving a Product-Market-Fit. 

The 2023 cohort is focused on developing digital solutions that are largely powered by artificial intelligence (AI), including the AI-powered language model, ChatGPT, and Internet of Things (IoT), among others, it added. 

Additionally, their products and solutions are designed to serve various sectors, including property, retail and healthcare, targeting businesses and consumers, it said.

Shafinaz Salim (pix), head of the Technology Hub Development Division, Cyberview, said,

"Cyberjaya's reputation as a smart city comprising early tech adopters, startups and multinational corporations makes it a focal point for local innovators to develop innovative and marketable solutions.”

Beyond that, Cyberjaya’s living lab offering, coupled with a strong ecosystem of tech players, these startups are well positioned to receive guidance, network and facilities to help them succeed and thrive. Cyberview is committed to nurturing homegrown start-ups in line with our aspiration to cultivate a strong innovation-based ecosystem in Cyberjaya,” she added.

According to Cyberview, the CLLA programme supports startups in fast-tracking the development of solutions and products before commercialising them in the market. The resources provided by the agency are valued at over US$21,500 (RM100,000) for each company and this includes a rent-free workspace at Colnnov8 - Cyberview's collaborative co-working space, resources, business advisory, and hands-on mentoring to help equip startups with viable business models and market access opportunities.

At the end of the programme, these startups will have the chance to showcase their final products for investment and partnership opportunities during a Demo Day to government agencies, corporate partners, venture capitalists, and the media.

Cyberview said that its programme is one of the longest-running accelerator programmes in Malaysia, having nurtured over 90 startups, out of which 70% are still active.

It said past CLLA alumni have collectively attracted US$55.1 million (RM256 million) in investments and significantly have collectively impacted the economy with the creation of more than 1,400 jobs.

Among successful alumni of the programme include TheLorry, Billplz, Supagene, MedKad, Pandai and ERTH.

In showing recognition to Cyberview’s Living Lab alumni, including the eight new members, the startups will be showcasing their businesses at the upcoming InnoEx by Cyberview, a multi-layered gathering of industry pioneers, thought leaders’ entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts and the community in celebrating the infinite possibilities of innovation and technology Cyberjaya has to offer. The event will be held from the 6th to the 9th of September at RekaScape, Cyberjaya.
